thanks.... technically its a 35 mile drive... but at freeway speeds of 20-30 mph.... cant even take the flipping carpool lane with out a Fast track pass....

The diamond lane is now just for multi occupant vehicles ONLY if they also pay for FasTrak?

Glad to hear your Grandma's stroke was minimal. Every sneeze must be scary with someone who will soon be 100.
I honestly dont know.... there is no toll booth or something like that... I couldnt afford a ticket its like 400 +- and the time to discuss it all.

This one was a bad one.... not so much as her stroke but she got sooo confused during the "shuffling" of the hospitals she didnt know where she was they yanked her hearing aids out so she couldnt hear what they were saying. but her retention for information is dependant on how much activity is going on around her.

So when she came home she was exhausted and mumbling... only today has she started back into her original routine. Which means Giving orders asking questions over and over again and talking on the phone.....

Were expecting some diminshed capacity... she is after all almost 100 I had to keep reminding my son that this confusion was temporary to some degree.... today proved it. We have a drs visit tomorrow and I am going to ask about the drugs that help people with dimensia and if something like that would be beneficial. Aricept comes to mind. of course they work temporarily but if it improves her frustration level we all will be happy.

OK i dug this up and no I dont have to pay if there is a passenger
good to know

Now it's so hot and humid we are taking today (Fathers Day) off and relaxing.

Some coop pics. Im renting to own my coop from a shed company. It was pretty nice that i could basically design it myself. Id like to change a few things but here it is and i love it!

I built a poop table out of scrap with a brooder below. Right now i have 6 chicks and 6 older hens. We can only have 15 chickens in kcmo so the brooder will become a ppace to put broody, sick or injured birds. All i need to do is purchase the stall dry for the tabletop. Whole building is 12x18.

send some of your rain to western NC. PLEASE!!! We are in a drought situation here. I have been on byc for a long time. Right now I have 4 orps, 4comets two wyn, and some roosters. They are young and not laying yet. I had to give up a flock last yr. because of my health. I missed them so much , I have started a new flock. I miss some of the girls really bad. I had one Jaerhon that was sooo sweet.

Looks good! As far as a place to put a broody, are you talking about a place for her to incubate eggs and brood chicks or a place to bust her? If the latter, that pretty much requires being up off the ground in a wire bottom cage so she can't lay down and stay hot underneath.

You can put your location in your profile and it will show up on all your posts. That way people don't have to ask "where are you located" if you have a question for which the answer may be different depending on where you live. I know *I* won't remember that you live in Kansas City, Missouri.

I thought broody meant it was a moody chicken that picked on other birds. So i guess i meant i would use it as time out for a bully chickens. Ive had chickens about 3months and the coop only 1month :) im a noob

In my experience a hen is either a mom or not, i never noticed 'broody' behavior come and go but i only had one good mom and she was always ready for babies.

As to time out, i dont tolerate bullies and i design coop and run so chicks can not be cornered and always have room to escape the occasional attack. The trick is to prevent injury because any injury will trigger aggressive behavior by all the flock and the injured bird will be killed. Chickens are cannibles.

gpeters3, care to share a couple of tips on designing for chick protection from bullies? I'm trying to figure out my coop construction and this would help!

Thanks,
Ed
