This is my watering system. BEST THING EVER!!! It is hooked to the garden hose through a toilet float valve in the bucket. When the water level drops it automatically fills. It is the gravity fed into the coop and into the run with PVC piping and poultry watering nipples.





Do you have any problems with algae buildup in the bucket? How hard is it to disconnect from the system for cleaning?

How do you keep 4-legged daytime predators away?
The lavender hut is so CUTE and "girlie" for the hens!!!

Can't tell from the picture but the yard is totally fenced in. If we leave then the girls go in their predator proofed 8' x 24' run. We have only had the girls since February, but absolutely no sign of any predator yet.......knock on wood.
 
The predators just haven't made it there yet, or...you just haven't seen them. They will make their presence known one day....digging at the run wall, tracks in the mud, visual sighting, etc.,. Hopefully nothing more serious than that.
