I've had great fun designing and building "The Funny Farm" coop this Summer for the flock I started this Spring in Brunswick, Ga. My grandfather always had chickens & I think he'd be pleased.

Well, my chickens are pecking at the butts of my tom turkeys and they are bald butted now. Im thinking mites? I thought toms were aggressive but they dont even pay attention to it. Finally got rid of the rooster. Got to sort out the layers so i can start butchering. Too many non-egglayers eating my feed.....

YAY! The two oldest girls have come of age! Sylvia (Silver Laced Wyandotte) started laying two days ago, 8/24. Betty (White Leghorn) layed her first today, 8/26.#proudmomma lol

I have the run built now and the hen house has been painted inside. I am hoping to open the hen house tomorrow for the girls I have just a few things to wrap up for them to occupy the building. I will still need to add the trim but that doesn't need to be done for them to start using it.
