Sandy - Barked Rock - 6 months
Apri - Partridge Silkie - 6 months

Bernadette - White Silkie - 6 months
Gross Rose - Amber Sex Link - 2 months
Valentina - Amber Sex Link - 2 months
Ultra - Amber Sex Link - 2 months
No Name - Amber Sex Link - 2 months
No Name - Amber Sex Link - 2 months
No Name - Amber Sex Link - 2 months

All are pullets and this is the pecking order, yes 3 of the sex links have no names yet Ultra is the largest Valentina is the smallest Gross Rose is develping some specks of color, the other three look alike well almost the legs give it apart so I'm hoping before they start laying they will have their specks of color and we will be able to tell them apart.

Gross Rose came to us with bad poopie butt so that's how the name came about.
Valentina came to us with poopie butt, but she was a fiesty little girl.
Ultra becasue she was the biggest and when they were getting use to us all the other chicks would push her out in front or so it seem so she by default became the bravest and tame the quickest. She started perching on our arms like a Parrot at 3weeks and usually at the most inconvienent time like right before I had to leave for work. She still does that now.
Bernadette from Big Bang Theory, the character is smart small and cute but can have a big voice and be very demanding, and that is the silkie my son picked out she is a trip to watch.
Apri just came to me and suits her.
Sandy well she is the boss after being scared and unhappy being the smallest of the barred rocks she flew over the coop and into the silkies coop and eventually the breeder stopped putting her back and let her stay. So we took her and now she got her confidence and is the big boss. She is in your face the first to eat the first to get her picture taken! The name some how suits her after much thought with my son.

Bernadette watching over the young ones their first few nights in the coop.

The pecking order from left to right

Miss Sassy pants herself at 2weeks Valentina. She was ******!

I wanted to name our first hens something like Omelet, Nugget, and Strips. My son was 10 and thought that a TERRIBLE idea. He named "his" chicken Sophia. Have no idea where that one came from. Then the brain wracking began. I decided that all of the girl's names would follow suit. We named our little backyard flock after the Golden Girls; Sophia, Blanche, and Rose with intentions to add Dorothy the next year. Blanche #1 turned out to be Bernard, but we traded him to Henny Jenny for a Blanche and all was right with the world.
Unfortunately, Rose became Raccoon dinner about 3 weeks before she began laying proving that Rose really was the dumb one.

Now we have Peach, Big Bertha, and Fluff or Fluffer as my husband calls her (ahem).

Love love love the golden girls! Awesome

We only have two with names (frankly it's because they are production layers so aside from the two with names, they all look the same lol)
name #1 is roadrunner (my 5 year old named her, pretty self explanatory, it was the first chicken she ever saw run, she compared it to what she sees on Bugs Bunny and bingo, name was born) #2 is Houdini (pictured in my avatar being held by my son) no matter what we do to their run, she can get out of it. My husband describes watching her escape under the wire sometimes and makes her sound like ninjachicken lol
