My 19 week old B.O. laid both of these eggs this week. The top egg was laid today and the bottom on Wednesday.

R-L: Large sized store bought egg, RIR, Araucana

They laid these first ones last Sunday and so far the RIR has given me 4 (one soft shell...I think...my BR is squatting so maybe it was her? I had a regular egg in with the soft one?!). I am amazed that already the RIR's egg is nearly the same size as the store eggs! Good girl!

I didn't think you could tell size from my hand, so maybe the mouse will help. Pretty small, but perfect! It's either from my 21 week old BR, or my 18 week old RIR... both of which are showing all the signs.

I received my second egg today. Two eggs now, enough for breakfast. Both were double yolkers!

Technically, this is my 2nd egg since the first one had a thin shell and got trampled! I am so excited!

ETA - IT WAS A DOUBLE YOLKER!

My one Buff Orpington laid these. She has been singing the egg song for a month, but i haven't been able to find her eggs. Today, i found her huddled over them in a burrowed-spot on the side of the house.

These are my first eggs ever!

I'm so ecstatic, i can't stand it!

She will be 24 weeks old in 2 days.

Aren't they BEAUTIFUL!

My turn, MY TURN....

We have GD's over this weekend, and we heard the egg song this morning, AGAIN.

Thinking it was a false alarm, we waited a bit, but then HAD to go look...sure enough, THIS time there was an egg! Our first EVER! They were so excited..and here it is:

Then we went to Walmart for the tax free day, and when we got back there was ANOTHER one!

We have 4 BR's...two have combs and wattles, but two do not...we're pretty sure it's the more mature ones laying now. (They're all the same age, we got them as 3 day olders)..

But woooohoooo! That they were here to see it! Yay!

Got our first egg this morning, not sure which of the ladies is the producer, but it's pretty cool no matter who it was.

I wonder if they'll taste pre-seasoned, since they've decided to make laying-burrows in the lemon verbena?

It used to be where the bunny hung out in the heat of the afternoon, but I think they hens have pretty much evicted him, poor thing.
