You'll occasionally see strange shaped eggs, you just never saw them in those 'perfect' dozens from the supermarket! I've never had a pear shaped one, but I've had them very pointy on both ends, or almost totally round.

This is my first egg from my EE Amelia. Yay! I have been waiting FOREVER! She's at least 8 months old. Also pictured is my 3rd egg from my Lakenvelder Molly. It is however the first one she's laid that made it into a nest! She spent nearly an hour in the nest scratching around. I thought she was halfway to China by the time she finally laid it.

Barred Rock laid her first egg on Christmas Day! Daughter placed it in the manger. lol 2 more since then, now making a cake!

This was such a surprise! I found it yesterday afternoon, December 27th. It could have been hidden in the coop for a day or two, I'm guessing. It's about half the size of a normal egg, but that didn't stop me from having a fantastic breakfast today.
