Our Easter Egger (Ameruacana/Cochin mix), named Oreo, hen laid her first egg today!

She is about 7 months and 28 days. Her egg was green.

It's weird because one of our Red Star/Rhode Island Red hens, Suzy, started laying yesterday and she's a little older than Oreo. I was expecting Oreo to take way longer than Suzy to start laying, since I've noticed that Red Stars/production breeds lay earlier than others usually.

Our first Ameraucana egg from our 37 weeks old wheatons, next to a RIR egg. I was beginning to think they would never lay!

Found these in the corner of the yard. The one I'm holding is probably the only one that is still good but, wow! I'm excited about this. I've been waiting for this for a long, long time!!!

Here is our very first egg. Came from one of our RIR's. This is very exciting for us as this is a new experience for us. New to this Chicken thing. Bought our chicks back in late September. We have 2 Leghorns, 2 RIRs & 2 Aruaconas.

Here is our first from our flock of 15 black sex-links born early July. It was born just about an hour & a half ago.

If they get bigger as they lay more... WOW!

My first, "dark egg!" It came from a 24 week old Blue Marans yesterday.

Today I got these .... I guess this would be my first, "torpedo egg!"
