Got our first egg on January 26th!!! We got hatching eggs from BellLisamo last Fall and they started laying at 5 months. So this is our official first egg from our own hatched chickens!!! My son is 2 yrs old and was so excited! He was in such a hurry to get outside, he threw on his 9 mon old baby brothers hat... This is from our Bantam Cochins! The've been giving us an egg a day for a week now!

yes we both shared an egg, but it wasn't that one, it was the second one we found. It was yummy yummy!

We got our first egg not too long ago. I was so proud I took a picture. At the time I thought I was a bit crazy to do so, but I'm glad that that notion has been debunked.

Welsummer 25 weeks old she laid this egg on 1/30/2010.

Our first egg was on Saturday, January 16th and by weeks end we had a dozen!

We got our first egg today YAY February 10, 2010
It’s a bit cracked, and has evidence that it fell from the perch(Question: will she know to move next time I’m guessing she was sleeping, the egg had purple paint on it from the next box cover that the perch is above, although I could screw a board to spot the eggs from then falling to the floor, might need to do that ASAP)
Well here’s the picture
(the left egg is a store bought egg for sizing LOL, it on the small small side but so cool)

And I’m pretty sure it was Cookie

If it wasn’t her it was Vanilla, no one else seems ready enough( this is a few weeks old the picture they both are much more red)

SO exciting so proud of my ladies today, beaming from ear to ear with tears in my eyes
Oh and they are 26 weeks old today

Congrats everyone!

I don't know what it is about that first egg. It just brings out the smiles and hoot, hoot going one. I love it.

I have a few months to wait for my Frizzle girls to start laying. I am excited already!
