While I have been anxiously checking nest boxes... these sneaky heifers have been laying behind a pile of cinderblocks against the privacy fence!! So I found NINE first eggs.....

Not a huge first egg, the hand is my four year old's, everyone got to take a turn holding it.

And this is Phoebe, 4 months old and now a layer of eggs, her proud owner, 10 years old and THE EGG!
