I cannot find the pictures, but thought I'd talk about a few strange eggs we've gotten.
One day, we had one that was actually 2 eggs stuck together! And this was about a year after they started laying.
Another had no yolk!
Also, one day their was a shell-less egg! Just the slippery membrane.
I love chickens! Their eggs are always a mystery! People who buy commercial eggs have no idea what they're missing out on!

Every once in a while I get one that small. The last one I put in a robins nest.

So proud of the girls who layed these! I bought them 2 weeks ago tomorrow. They are pet quality black rosecomb bantam hens. They are quite large to be bantams

I bought 3 at an auction and one is sick. I've treated her for everything, and now she's on injected antibiotics as a last resort. The other two are quarantined away from the sick girl and one was barebacked and the other bareheaded. I've fed them high protein chick starter for almost two weeks, treated them for mites and lice, wormed them, and today I walked out to visit them and found an egg in the run ( the dirty egg) and one in the nest box! Both girlies layed for the first time for me today! : ) Their feathers are growing back, the sheen is coming in on their feathers, their combs/wattles are blazing red, they are coming out to be GORGEOUS birds!!

Due to withdrawel from Wazine, I can't eat these but they will be incubated because you never know what rooster had his way with them before they came to me...it will be a mystery hatch!

Whoo-hoo! This is from one of our Barred Rocks. Since I got the girls as pullets, I don't know exactly how old they are, but this came earlier than I expected. Yay!

Finally! We have our first egg. The girls are 21 weeks old now. I'm not sure who laid it but they're all BR's. 2 do this foot stomp then squat by me.

Isn't it exciting? I was carrying around this little egg like it was a piece of fragile fine crystal!
