Is that dark egg a Marans egg? I raised four Black Copper Marans from chicks and am eager to see their first chocolate brown eggs sometime next month.

I got my first egg this morning

Now I just have to figure out which of my girls layed it! It is slightly off white.

My first egg today! I am so excited I can barely contain myself.

It doesn't show in the lighting (or against the countertop) but the egg is a really pretty light blue/green. The girls earned some extra watermelon today!

I think I caught Tigerlily in the act when I went and checked the water.... I went back a half hour later and there was an egg in the box.

This ginormous egg showed up in a nest box yesterday...no clue who laid it, but I suspect one of our new Barred Rock pullets. I thought it might be a double yolker, but no...just a Godzilla egg!
