I found my first eggs this morning!!!

I have a pretty good idea who provided the excitement, but not for certain.... I'll have to watch some chicken t.v. over the weekend to see if I can figure it out!!!! My hens are about 5 1/2 months old. I'm just very excited, although it looks like more oyster shells are in order as two have cracked shells...... go ladies, go!

First egg 12 Oct 2011 from a barred rock chickie 20 weeks old. The next day we got three eggs so they are up and running. Yeah!!

I didn't know that my hen had started laying, so this was my first - 12th egg!

A gift from our Golden Comet (named 'Comet' ...original, eh?), her first one!

(Somewhat obviously the white one is shown for size comparison... a Large from the store.)

She laid her first at 23 weeks old... And it weighed 40g on the nose.
