FIRST EGG FOR US!!!!!
From Harriet our black orpington (1 yr old who just joined us a few wks ago and is going through a moult so wasn't expecting any for awhile)

Our first ever eggs! They are small pullet eggs that look bigger in my daughter's little hands. Our three girls are 21 weeks old and I'm hoping these are from the two BSLs and not from our EE!

Here's how it went:
Me: Hey, daughter, go check for eggs.
DD: Mom, there never are any.
Me: Go check anyway.
DD: {dramatic gasp}
Me: There's an EGG????!!!???
DD: No, Mommy.... there's TWO!

r Cuckoo Maran pullet (1 of 4) just produced her first egg! We didn't quite know what to expect, but needless to say, we are thrilled! Now for more, more, more!

Finally...here is a picture of the world's most expensive egg! We've been vacationing in Europe for the past two weeks, and I completely expected the chicken sitters (my parents!) to be the beneficiaries of the first eggs. Nope, my White Leghorn Ethel waited until my first day back to produce this perfect, tiny egg. She's also squatting for us, as is our RIR. The EE is showing no signs yet.

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's breakfast!

EDIT: And here is breakfast! Freshest egg I've ever tasted. I can't wait for production to ramp up, in terms of numbers and egg size.

afj6710 - She was actually laying them in one of our planters under a bedroom window.

We moved them when we came home and she was broody over them - didn't want her staying out of a coop all night. But once we moved them she refused to sit on them anymore and they went in the fridge.

Found first egg yesterday, not in the cute basket but hidden in the pine shavings. Very exciting but not sure which girl laid it...

We got our first egg today! I'm thinking it's from our barred rock, Trixie, since she's a good 3 weeks older than the rest of the bunch, but at this point, it could be anyone.

And next to a grocery store XL Egg...

Right in the nest box where it should be, next to the golf balls.
