Post your FIRST EGG pics!

Our first egg!! I can't be 100%, but I'm pretty sure it was from Verna, one of our Red SL. All of our hens were exactly 4 months 10-03-11. I had no other eggs left in the house, but my boys were excited to share it for breakfast this morning...even though there wasn't much, they loved it!

So after many weeks of singing the blues to my hubby about my girls not laying..... I get a text message that says "Look what I found!"

So...all my birds are free range...apparently my girls have no desire to lay in the nest box within the coop...they are laying in a basket behind our shed!
What gives??

Even though I've only had "the girls" for a couple of hours their first egg has arrived!

Thanks! I was worried they might be too short (only about 8" tall), but they seem to like them. Maybe they're cozy.

Seems to work - three more eggs since!

I put a few screws in the top to connect the stack to the wall so they can't fall over.

Found my first one on Monday. (yes, I know that's a rooster on the tablecloth

Found another late yesterday slightly bigger than the first.

I've also been complaining for weeks about no eggs and found (or heard) one of my hens in my garden shed haypile this morning. She was either laying or sitting on already laid eggs. She's my grouchy one, so I won't be able to investigate until later! Mine are free range, but go into the coop at night and apparently forego their nest box in the morning to go lay elsewhere!
