I didn't get to post a pic of my first egg. But it came yesterday!

The first egg seemed to be a difficult delivery.
The wrinkle is where my wife glued it all back together
after I broke it open to see if it was okay.
The second is from the same chicken.
I know there at least 3 others that will lay any minute.

These are from big Orpingtons and these first two didn't even move the
old scale I have.

Must be WeePeeWee.

Our first duck eggs from our Indian Runner Ducks

I can't wait for my first duck eggs!!! How old are blue swedish and khaki campbells before they'll lay??
Oh and we ate two of Henrietta's eggs today. The yolks were sooooo orange! Been a while since we had a layer!

Two came from a Red Star, one from a Barred Rock, and one from a RIR. Another Red Star, RIR, and a Silverlaced Wyandotte have not started laying yet. None of the eggs came from the rabbit...at least not yet. I hear they lay around Easter.

This is our first egg from our second flock. Might have been our banty hen. We purchased all the second flock from horsegirl. The larger eggs are ones from our first flock of RIR/W The middle one is the norm for the RIR's and the big one is the norm from the RIW.

Oh how I've been dying to post here!!!!

My white silkie laid today at about 30 weeks. Nice cream color with a nice hard shell.

These aren't my first eggs, but they ARE my first EE eggs. I think they are all from the same hen, but since all three are acting interested in the nest boxes and only two have squatted, I'm not sure who it is. I just love these, they are so pretty. I hope my other EE's will lay green eggs now, or other shades of blue!

Then I also had to show you this one. We found it yesterday. Not bad since my Golden Comets just started to lay! Can't wait to see how many yolks it has in it. If that didn't give it away to the neighbors that we have chickens, nothing will!!
