First Egg Today! Sorry, no picture. Would you like to know why? Of course you would....

I stepped on it. Chicken spends most of the morning sitting on the nesting box, gets up, goes outside, and lays it by my foot on the ground while I do some modifications in the new coop. Stupid me

LOL! Oh my gosh! That kinda sucks, but is pretty darn funny! I hope you have better luck tomorrow!

Nice job girls! Do you know how long i've waited for this!!! I stick my hand in the nest box to clean it and get a handful of egg white and yolk soaked pine shaving shavings and the remains of an egg shell. I actually took a picture of what I pulled out of the mess.

I feel your pain, but I wish it'd been the chicken instead of me. I was so frustrated with my own carelessness, I couldn't even take the picture

Had these two waiting for me to replace the one I crushed with my foot yesterday. First EGGS!

Well congrats on your replacement! I haven't gotten mine yet. I wasn't really expecting her to lay again today anyway. But another one of my chickens squatted twice when I went out today! It was actually my bug mutt, Sandy Clause (because of her big white beard). All I know is she has polish and silkie in her so it's suprising she started squatting at 23 weeks! I am ashamed of my speckled sussex. I bought her so I would get an egg sooner and she was beat to it.

So Pumpkin, my 22 weeks old EE, comes in first and who will come in second? Sandy Clause, the mutt at 23 weeks, Snow, the speckled sussex at 23 weeks, or Luna, the silkie at 20 weeks? Just don't step on it girls...
