Nice looking eggs. And I love your Roo. He's beautiful. We have a New Hampshire Roo that settles squabbles and keeps the flock in line and watches out for them....for small favors...LOL. They really add so much to a flock's personality. In fact I'm SOOO glad I live in the country where I can have one. I can't imagine my flock with out our Roger the Rooster.
Yesterday, found my first ever pullet egg.
Today a second one.
Not sure, but I think Goldie and Red are the culprits.
The far right is one from the old hens, laid last month.
center is the one from yesterday, and left from today.
Regular golf ball to compare to.
Roo the rooster, who does what he was hired , er raised for.
he protects the pullets from the old hens, and chases all the girls at times.
And he started crowing last month.
Still needs a tune up though, LOL
Anyway, I can now start having eggs again, though these will take more than the ones I was getting before, at least till they get to laying full sized eggs.
I candled both. Look clear, and they fee;l about right weight wise.
I used to, once in a while, get an egg or two that was about the size of maybe a pigeons egg.
With 4 good pullets now, i should have enough to give a few away
and maybe raise more pullets next year.
be interesting to see what comes out of those eggs...
