Nice looking eggs. And I love your Roo. He's beautiful. We have a New Hampshire Roo that settles squabbles and keeps the flock in line and watches out for them....for small favors...LOL. They really add so much to a flock's personality. In fact I'm SOOO glad I live in the country where I can have one. I can't imagine my flock with out our Roger the Rooster.
Yesterday, found my first ever pullet egg.
Today a second one.
Not sure, but I think Goldie and Red are the culprits.

The far right is one from the old hens, laid last month.
center is the one from yesterday, and left from today.
Regular golf ball to compare to.

Roo the rooster, who does what he was hired , er raised for.
he protects the pullets from the old hens, and chases all the girls at times.
And he started crowing last month.
Still needs a tune up though, LOL

Anyway, I can now start having eggs again, though these will take more than the ones I was getting before, at least till they get to laying full sized eggs.
I candled both. Look clear, and they fee;l about right weight wise.
I used to, once in a while, get an egg or two that was about the size of maybe a pigeons egg.
With 4 good pullets now, i should have enough to give a few away
and maybe raise more pullets next year.
be interesting to see what comes out of those eggs...

Got another little egg today - WOOT! This time it's beautifully shaped, but same small size. Same color. Assuming same chicken! 1 hen laying, 17 to go!

I caught my Golden Sex Link, (Goldie) laying her egg yesterday. I figured out that she is the one that has been laying, 4 days in a row! I wish that my other 19 hens would start laying too! We want to have a big egg breakfast on saturday, but I dont think that 4 eggs are gonna feed 6 of us
!

I have my chickys on a routine....same feeding times every day...7am fresh water cracked corn and oats to scratch...and I have been using flock starter feed...have recently changed to a laying mix...1pm fresh water again, and their fresh garden veggies tomatoes and greens, grated cucumbers and a little fruit for their snack...I grow melons...watermelon and cantaloupe....and 4pm some more scratch and I have a worm bed...I feed them worms....chickens love music....I have a portable radio and play the classical station for them all day...try the music thing and watch your chickens, they become very peaceful and stress free...they actually listen...my chickens are spoiled

My first Easter Egger egg. Um... it's white! What? Maybe a little cream - but no green or blue by any stretch of the imagination. LOL I have 7 EE pullets (said 8 in another thread - haha - Sampson the roo would take issue with that!) 21 weeks & 2 days today. Hopefully the others will find their crayons!!

The other is an egg from my White Rock.

I'm just curious - does the EE have a pea comb or straight? I'm sure your other EEs will have some different crayons in their boxes! It's a very pretty white egg though.

All of my EE's have pea combs. I'll take some pictures of them in the next day or two. I know - first thought - oh no! What if they're not EE's? But I got them from Mt. Healthy as EE's, and most are muffed, and all have green or slate legs.. they're EE's. But mutts ya know! hehe Funny thing - I was sort of thinking I should have added a white egg layer to the mix, since I no longer have my leghorns. Wouldn't ya know one of my gals would read my mind?

And thank you, it is a very pretty little egg. I have it sitting in a cup on my living room bookshelf - sort of like a faberge egg. Goodness knows I paid a WHOLE lot for this little thing!
