We officially have two egg layers in our flock. Boomer, our RIR decided to stop being a freeloader today. LOL

Now...if only the other two would start. They're not showing ANY signs of laying anything anytime soon!

I just purchased 3 black ameraucanas, I can't wait to get some pretty eggs like these!

We got another first egg today!! From my GSL Solita. Now we have TWO girls laying! Yay! Hazel, my EE, has laid one every day since she laid her first egg on Saturday! Five days straight! Go Hazel! So glad some of the girls are deciding to earn their keep. Now to just get the others on board.......

Finally got my first pullet egg from my little black EE! Left is a RIR medium size egg, center is her first egg and 2 days later the second on the right.

This is my first egg from my Barred Rock. She has laid 7 since. She is the only one laying so far, though my White Rock and Australorp look and act like they will any day now. The rest show no signs. They are all six months today. My husband eats them as fast as they come out so the rest need to get busy.

WOW Solita's egg is amazing!! So unique & beautiful! One of my Barred Rocks lays an egg w/ a little bit of white speckling on it, but much smaller dots & pretty much just on the top 1/3 of the egg..kinda like spritzing from spray paint
