Austra, my black Australorp, laid her first egg yesterday. Long after the others started

Austra, Goldie and Red.
Todays, Bottom row Red nicklel to show size, and Goldie.
I think Austra took a break today

I was getting two eggs most days, looks like 3 a day most days, once Austra gets the hang of it...

Wow, 2 at a time every day?
Red may have laid 2 in one day a few months ago, when I found 2 eggs, and it turned out Goldie had not started laying eggs yet.
I can tell by looking, who laid which eggs...

Tada! Spotted Butt laid her first egg today! She is a barred rock. She was so proud of it that after she laid the egg she sat in my lap and clucked away for almost twenty minutes.
