Yaaaaay! First egg today from one of my silkie/D'Uccles girls. I feared something happened to them this morn when they were still in the coop at 10a. Apparently one of them were laying an egg. I'm so proud it's the smallest cutest egg I've ever seen.

It looks like a silkie egg.

This was my last first and it came from my EE. It's the blue egg on the top right. I am sad that there won't be anymore exciting firsts, but satisfied with the results.

It took her 34.5 weeks to lay that egg.

Must be my sultan silkie cross has both mixture of feathering so she is really soft!

Ermahgerd! So cool to know!! I was talking non stop about chickens and somehow managed to get my husband to stop at the flea market for their monthly live stock swap.

I thought I got swindled at first. The guy that sold them to me just kept saying "they're bantams, just bantams" I had no clue at the time it's a generalized name. He did have pictures of full silkies. When I got home and googled the D'Uccles were the closest I found. When I posted guess my chicken on this forum the resounding answer was a mix of that and silkie. Either way I don't care they're so sweet and like you said so soft. I just want to squeeze them but they're not big fans of that.
