I have 4 Barred Rocks that are 20 weeks old. Left for 2 days and yesterday came back to this:


Pretty sure just one of the chickens gave me both (1 each day I was gone). One was in the nest box the other was on the floor of the henhouse. Now I want to go out every 5 minutes and check for more

One of them looks like a double yolk. One of my birds laid a few of those when she was first starting out. Congrats!

Here is Lucy's first egg. Laid 9/5 and Lucy was about 24 weeks old.

Never buying eggs again! Our first chicken started laying today! They're 20 weeks old today...Is it common for them to lay more than one at a time?!

This is one of my first layers, Goldie. She gave me two eggs in two days, but none today. One of my three Australorps, the one with the middle size comb has given me three eggs in three days, two were cracked. I put shelf liner in box bottom, no eggs today. I hope I find a box full tomorrow. It's time these girls paid me back for all that food and treats that they have had since April. Com'mon girls, you can do it.

I knew they started out small but is this normal? It's the size of a grape! She lays about once a week and thy have all been this size.

Yay our first egg! But we aren't sure who laid it and no one is sitting on it. How will I know who's it is and is it okay that she hasn't laid on it? We do want some hatchlings... What should I do?
