We got our first eggs from two of our 20 week old pullets recently. I don't know who is laying them, but I'm thinking it may be my red sex-links, Tempura and Sunny.



It's the one on the left. The middle one is one of my older hens eggs and the right one is from my ameraucana, Penguino.



The first three of Tempura's eggs were both double yolkers. It's the two small yolks towards the bottom.

Rhode island red's first egg laid this morning!

My Red Star pullets from Murray McMurry were born 2/6/2015, the first three laid eggs 6/30/2015 at 21 weeks. Pullet's first egg and it weights 4 3/4 oz! there was an egg inside the egg! and there was a yolk inside the egg with-in the egg.

Ouch!!! I've had one of my girls lay a double yolk but I've never seen an egg within an egg but I'm so new to chickens I'm quickly learning anything can happen lol.

Goldie finally did it! She was squatting all week and I saw her checking out the nesting box yesterday but she layed it on the ground instead

right under where they roost at night in some poop

but I am still elated! A pic of where I found it, next to our store bought egg for comparison and the good girl.

Also... I have six chickens and have NO IDEA which ones laid these!! (They look identical but I've been checking that house every day, there's no chance of them both being from the same chicken!!)

great eggs! also love the kids in there! reminded me of my 2yr old when he saw our first egg, I think he was more excited then I was! (I was going NUTS!)

Finally got our First egg yesterday! I was so excited, of course my husband found it after I was already at work, but sent me the pics

We used plastic easter eggs in the boxes.

The white one is a store bought egg, just to compare size

Not positive, but pretty sure it was this Black Sex-Link, we call Chatty (she was the first really talkative girl lol) She has been squatting for about a week now. They are all 22 weeks.

Wow! My RI reds have been laying a few weeks now, that's one of theirs on the right. Look what I found in the coop today! One of my EE must have started laying before my Australorp! Look at the size of that blue-green jewel!!! <3
