Wow! My RI reds have been laying a few weeks now, that's one of theirs on the right. Look what I found in the coop today! One of my EE must have started laying before my Australorp! Look at the size of that blue-green jewel!!! QUOTE] Love the color!

First egg today! We got our first chickens last May, and today i found our first egg! I am soo excited! We have 2 ameracunas in the flock, I'm thinking this greenish egg is from one of them.

So we found this in the yard today not near any trees and right next to a pile of chicken poo- we think it's a first egg from one of our silkies! Unless it's a random egg that fell from the sky- a little nervous about eating it!

Been waiting, then this evening I found our first egg. I am guessing it is one of my RIR, but it could be one of the slw too.

Very nice especially the greenish one. I wanted blue eggs but my Ameraucana turned out to be a rooster and I re-homed him. .Have fun gathering your eggs; I do. Kay in NC 9.26.15

Our Black SexLink "Piggy" did the squat & freeze first! and within 3 days, at 20 weeks old, she presented us with one, then her sister Star .. and Boy are they "Noisy with their 'Egg Song!! Way to announce to the whole Forest & hawks above! This first eggs picture .. in one of the dishes i threw & glazed in honor of my 7 Girls.
