Finally got our first egg! They're almost 8 months old!

wooo! finally I can post on the FIRST EGG thread! 29 week old Rhode Island Red

Keep them with oyster shell and feed them 22% protein for a time. Eggs will get larger. Much larger! Have a good time with them.

My first eggs! I was so shocked to find them! My girls are only 5 months old and it's winter. Im so proud!! I wasn't expecting eggs until spring! My Ameraucana has given me an egg everyday since

]The 1st egg might be the 2nd I found one that the girls had stepped on a few times that was all cracked, it was sooner then I thought, and the nesting box was not open yet. So in -6 F I was out side getting the nesting boxes ready but hope she starts to use them right away
