Our first eggs came on a 14 degree F day...brrrr So exciting! Our ladies are just over 6 months old (183 Days). I’m not sure which 2 did the laying, but we are happy to have some eggs!

Our first egg laid Dec. 7! I was so excited I weighed it on the food scale before eating it for breakfast: 47g. :) Henrietta's only taken two days off since then. Now waiting on the other 4 to start laying!

We are first time chicken raisers with 4 20 week old hens. Our two ISA Browns began squatting just over a week ago to our absolute delight! This morning we went out to give them a nice good morning pet and found an egg right in the middle of the run! Our first homegrown egg ever! We are wondering if it was Mary or Carrie who have us this beautiful brown egg... the other should be close behind. It is just slightly smaller than a storebought grade A large egg and has a beautifully strong shell. The girlies are getting some serious mealworms today!

Here’s my first egg from one of my 4 month olds! I don’t know which one it is, but I have buff orpingtons and New Hampshire reds in that group. I got this first one on 06/20/18, and my second one I got today, 06/21! They’re little, but I’m proud! I bet pretty soon we’ll have plenty of eggs! The one in the frying pan was the 2nd egg :)
