So happy to find this on the coop floor this morning. New birds are a little more than 4 months old. 3 breeds. CM BA n BJG. I think it's a wittle CM egg since it's pretty dark w speckles. Any insight?

The egg on the left is from r almost year old LBs.

My CM's eggs were bitty teeny when she started, & have stayed right about that color, tho they've very gradually gotten larger.

Our chickens are just 5 months old so didn't expect eggs quite yet. 'Found this on a roost bar this morning. We were excited to find it but worried about the very thin or non-existant shell.

Later this morning we couldn't find a chicken, and after looking around the yard, one scurried out from under a hedge. When I examined the spot I found these... So someone's been busy.

There are likely from one or both of our EEs.

Our first chickens, our first eggs. Now have to check out that malformed egg...

First egg ever! Laid yesterday by our Golden Comet, Goldie. I don't even know what size it was. Definitely little, but bigger than a bantam egg.

This is our first egg! We brought our three "girls" home on Monday night and Tuesday late afternoon we found this egg. We have only gotten one more since Monday. (and 1 broken half egg) Hopefully they will get more comfortable in their new home and we will see more!

Thanks peartreehens. We have five CM. I'm hoping to start getting more now!

Robat 70.... shellless/soft eggs are common for new layers. Make sure to provide oyster shells to help w added calcium n shell production. That's the last step in egg making.

My first egg! I have no idea which lady laid it but I know my California White didn't. So exciting! I bought a dozen ceramic eggs from Murray McMurray and put two in each box. Woohoo, it worked! Can't wait until tomorrow to check for eggs again! :D
