Oh my!! Another egg today!!! The lighter colored one is mine and the chocolate is a jumbo store bought egg my friends were so suprised when i told them my first egg was the size of a jumbo!!!!! I am so proud!! Good job rouge!!!! You did awesome

Ouch! Poor girl. Give that girl a treat or something!

One of them looks like a double yolk. One of my birds laid a few of those when she was first starting out. Congrats!

It's not our first egg, althought these 6 girls are recent layers. I got my first HUGE egg this morning. It has to be from our RIR girl, Roody Red! It's 2.6oz. and the the other eggs are ranging from 1.5-1.9. The longer they are laying the bigger the eggs are getting. And with 6 girls we are getting 5 eggs a day so far.

Those are very nice eggs by the way. Hey while Im here, I have a question I hope somebody might have an idea if theres something wrong with my 6 hens. They will be 1 year old next month. I was getting 5-6 eggs a day. But for a few weeks now Im only getting maybe 2 or 3 a day. The girls seem fine and just as healthy as they were before they stopped laying. Any ideas I could consider?

Our very first egg from one of our 7 Buff Orpingtons. I heard a bunch of clucking and noticed that one girl was in the house and the rest were pacing outside repeating her clucks.. I had a good idea what was happening

This is our first time raising chickens so we were all pretty excited.

The big one had a double yoke! Very golden and beautiful!


and the shell was pinkish all the way through.

Our first egg - came nearly 2 weeks ago. Initially could not work out who layed it - but then finally worked out it was Caggie our Speckled Sussex. Since then she has laid nearly every day - and they get bigger all the time. Have 2 others that should be laying by now as they are near 30 weeks!! a Blue Weyandotte and an Olive Egger.
