Finally our first egg! We have runner girls and a drake. They are about 7 months now so I have been waiting anxiously for the girls to start laying. It's pretty miserable weather at the moment in England, just relentless rain and wind and we are only getting about 9 hours daylight which I guess has slowed them down. I feel like a proud father!
Here it is, 74grams of messy perfection!

One whole year! My SLW turned one yesterday and laid her very first egg. A big day for both of us!

I got the first egg from my pullet Puff, I will have to get a picture, it is a beautiful dark brown egg!

This was one of my Marans (I think) first egg. It's pretty big. Poor lady!

My black Australorp just started laying too! (I think) Her first egg is the brown one in the middle row.

Still waiting on the other three girls =-) I can't wait to see what that little bantam Silkie produces-- will they be tiny and cute like she is?

After buying late and waiting extra long my beautiful Barred Rock laid an egg!

A beautiful creamy brown that weighs 1.60 ounces!

Since she has laid 5 a week and they keep getting bigger. 2 ounces today!!
