Yes I was so excited! They all layed their first eggs on the same day! But don't worry mine did that too, I got these 3 eggs last Tuesday but none if them layed Wednesday. Thursday I got 1 egg & I'm finally getting 2 a day now! They're still a little smaller but I can tell they're getting to be bigger & better eggs! Thank you! Just be patient & I'm sure your end will pull through for you too! :)

KameyRae- I was super excited to get 1 first egg so I can only imagine how exciting it was to get 3. Glad to hear that my girls laying break is normal. I will be patient with her and the other girls as well. But the wait is sooo hard. Glad to hear the eggs get bigger and better. Our first and 2nd ones were just fine with us but when we cooked the first one up it was only worth like 2 or 3 bites!! Still delicious all the same.

We weren't sure what she'd end up laying and we have had three now and they're a pale blue sometimes greenish but always super pale. And very large eggs!

Today I fInally heard the "hen song" that several people have mentioned. My White Leghorn started laying this past Saturday, and has laid one egg every day since then. Today I went to check on her around noontime when she normally lays her egg. She was singing "Bac, bac, bac, bac, bac, baaaaac! Bac, bac, bac, bac, bac, baaaaaac!" Over and over again as she moved from nest box one, to nest box two, to nest box three, to nest box four, and finally to nest box five, which is the one she likes to use. She put her tail in the air for a few minutes, and then sat down, got real quiet, and out popped the egg. The rest of my hens were very still and quiet as she sang and laid her egg. Almost respectful-like. It was amazing to watch.

I know! Fernie did that yesterday as well! She was the only one in the coop, though. But she started out in nest box one, which she has been laying in, to nest box two, which my BO has been laying in. Today Fernie didn't lay an egg at all! So far Buffy has only skipped one day. I'm OK with that. They deserved a break! Laying eggs is hard work! I laid two, I should know! Only mine where quite a bit larger and moving around!!!

I forgot to take a picture on the first day of laying for my Red/Gold SL Janet but here are her first two eggs with a store bought extra large

Well done Janet!!!

My Red Star, Camellia, was the first to lay out of my six girls! I'm so egg-cited about getting more. She laid around 10:30 this morning.
