Got our first egg today it was a little brown one.don't kow which one layed it and don't have a picture either maybe we get more tomorrow. We are new to the chicken thing and our hens are only 19 weeks old right now so we will see what we end up with. We have EE and Sexlinks and orpingtons and even some crested. It will be like christmas everyday.

Not our first egg and this probably belongs in a different post, but just couldn't resist showing this pic from a collection day of our mixed batch of chickens. I knew which Araucana laid this cause she was walking bow-legged for a week. LOL... well not really, but I knew what that blood curdling screech was about now.

Finally! From our 20-week-old Buff Orpington pullet, Betty. Right in the box the first time, too! Now if she'll only give some tips to her sister, Wilma.

Wattles has been named such for two months now. Believe it or not, those fabulous wattles you see have been there for quite awhile now. So, we believe she was the first to lay an egg today! YAY!

Wattles EXACTLY a month ago. Can you tell which one she is?

She's a SLW and we're all so proud ^_^ They were all hatched May the 5th.

Our 22 week old Red Frizzle, SweetiePie, has started laying. She lays one every day. Frizzles are a small breed, so her eggs are about half the regular size. She is a delightful little soul. She's friendly, easy to handle, talkative, and loves to follow us around the yard!
