Got my first one today from one of my 8 RIRs, 19 weeks old. It's a little tiny, 41 grams, but they'll probably get bigger. Now I need another one s DH & I can eat them.

I got my first eggs today! I went down to check on the girls and found not one but 3 eggs! I have a bluish one and a green one from my EEs and a dark brown one that I am guessing came from my BCMs hen based on the color. These are the first eggs ever and they are really pretty big! I took a picture of them next to a white store bought large egg so you could compare the sizes and colors.

These were gathered last October and I took pics. I just now looked at the sticky on this thread! Here are my very first eggs from my very first hens!

I found several as I hadn't looked for them for 3 days prior.

These are actually THE first 2 eggs that I did find... gave me goosebumps!

We got our very first egg today, from our Brown Leghorn! She was acting bizarre all day, vocalizing like crazy and pacing in the yard. She just seemed completely beside herself. Then she disappeared -- she and her BO buddy are inseparable, but suddenly she wasn't with her. So I checked in the coop, and there she was, surrounded by torn up newspaper. A beautiful, perfect white egg lay in front of her.
Oh Happy Day!

Here is my first egg laid this afternoon by Penny! Well actually it's my first intact egg. My two girls laid 3 over the last 4 days the first two were soft and one's shell was so thin it broke. I was pretty concerned aafter the first egg, but after consulting the BYC forum I realized that wasnt' so abnormal. This website is great. I have really enjoyed cruising through the forums.

Henrietta, my little adopted hen had 9 bitties... didn't even know I had them till I actually saw them with her as I headed out to walk the dogs.... but she's a great mom, not only is she raising 9 bitties, she has time to lay another egg... my first (ok, technically not the "first" but the first I found!)

Look REAL HARD... all 9 are in the picture!

Here is the egg, laying on my hand dyed merino roving and my handmade lip balm beside it for size reference.
