We got our first egg today! Our chicks are 23 weeks old. When I brought it in and showed it to my wife, you would have thought we had just won a thousand dollars. We were so excited!!! Here's me holding it... sideways

Got my first egg from Frightful today!!!

I suspected she might have laid yesterday, but I wasnt positive it was her, this morning I found her in the nest box and she let out a cackle a *pop* there was an egg!!

Well, they aren't our first eggs. I wasn't a member of the forum then. From two of our girls whom enjoy laying their eggs in a dog porter.

My chicken seemed very confused as to what it was and why it was in her nest.

I couldn't find one of the girls as I was putting them away from free-ranging... turns out she was in the nesting box laying an adorable green egg! we were so surprised, as I had heard that EEs often start to lay late, but she was our first, at a bit over 17 weeks.
