Thanks! My 7 year old and I were jumping up and down excited...silly since of course chickens will lay eggs, but it was still one of the little moments in life worth celebrating

My 16 week old Red Stars produced these little lovelies today One was laying in the middle of their run and the other was sitting inside the coop in a corner.... totally wasn't expecting them this early!

My husband and I found this little egg yesterday. We were as excited as little kids. We think our Easter Egger, Xanthippe, is the lovely lady who gave this to us.

Well I too just recieved a gift today from my Araucana "mix" Stella. She gave us an absolutely perfect blue-green egg today!

I posted in the egg countdown thread, but I guess I should have posted here. Oops. These are from our EEs. I hadn't been keeping very close track, but I counted today and they are 21 weeks old. I just switched them to a layer food this weekend as well.

Beautiful eggs!!!!! The green ones are so pretty. I saw on the other thread you asked if they were from the same hen, my guess would be yes even though onhas brown spots. And how exciting your kids found the first eggs Also read that on the other thread. My kids stock the egg boxes lol. I swear they check 20 times a day. Its like the best treasure ever to them and secretly me. My husband makes fun of me for "treating them as if they are gold" but they are right lol. Weve collected 27 eggs so far but one was dropped and 2 were laid with slight cracks(losing 3 eggs made me sad) I guess I can see why hubby makes fun of me lol.

And philbfarm such a nice color egg I love it!

My girls have been laying for 6 days now (they were free range and part of me wonders if they might have been laying sooner somewhere on the back of the property) and our egg count is up to 12. This morning I found 4 eggs which means 4 of my 6 are laying including my EE, its amazing how eggciting it is to look for more each morning. These are our ones from yesterday and today, we already ate our first ones.
