I am over the moon! Here's the first egg from my sweet little fluff-butt Ameraucana. Seafoam green with gray speckles!! I've never seen anything more beautiful. The other two eggs are eggs number 4 and 5 from my Golden Sexlink pullet. Both girls are the tender age of 17 weeks!! By the way, if anyone thinks the color of the Sexlink's eggs are darker than usual, let me know will you? I also have a Penedesenca in that coop and I don't know if she's laying yet. I would THINK her eggs would be MUCH darker, but she is from a hatchery, so who knows?

Thanks all!!

This is day #2 with another 2 eggs

Awww! It's beautiful! I can't wait till my easter egger starts laying!

Thank you. :) I have two more Ameraucanas that haven't laid yet, so I'm hoping I am fortunate enough to get one blue egg layer too. That would be incredible good fortune. This is my favorite time, waiting to see what colors I end up with.

Good luck on your girls!

I found a vey very small egg today in the laying nest. About the size of a ping pong ball. Does that mean it is one of our new hens, only 4 months old it is a. Cherry edger hen. Replies please

One of our little bantam girls (OEGB) laid her first egg today. It's a real light cream color and it's about the size of a walnut!

Here's a picture of it with eggs from my Leghorns & my Tetra Tint who have only been laying about 3 weeks.

We got our first one today- but no clue which one laid it, though we have it narrowed down to two that seemed like they were close. So happy!

GAWD!!!!!! I wish mine would start laying. they are 22 weeks old. though, im not sure i want them now, cuz the chickens are sick. they have fowl pox and i dont want to eat eggs from sick chickens.

I think these are from my Rhode Island Reds (prod. reds, actually). I have two that are just over 21 weeks old. The other chickens I have are a Buff Orp who is 19 weeks and two Australorps at 19 weeks.

My question is do you think it's the Reds for sure who are laying? I have gotten an egg a day since the 30th of July. Do you think the two that are the same size with the identical wrinkled ends are from the same chicken? (Those are the first two eggs.) That would mean she was laying her first two eggs less than 24 hours apart. Would the third egg definitely have been from the other 21 week old because it was a different size?
