Post your FIRST EGG pics!

This is the perfect first little egg from on of my SLW's. She's 18wks and such a good girl. She announced to the world this morning about her laying an egg.

Dh went to check on her, thought she was being attacked, she made such a ruckas.

The sad part is that on the same day as this egg was laid, we lost one of our 9wk old BR pullets. She was hen pecked and unfortunately we didn't get to her in time. She died in my arms and my DD's had a little memorial where we buried her.

Left-large store egg
Middle-my first egg (from an EE)
Right a medium store egg

Mine is smaller than the medium egg, but heavier than the large egg. I dropped it in the yard and it didn't crack. I might need a sledge hammer to get it open!

Here is my first pullet egg from my Light Brahmas, standard version. They were 21 weeks old when they laid it. I got another one 2 days later, and another one today. The first egg was laid on August 30th.

First egg!! It seems to be shell-less, and from the looks of it she also laid a shell-and-membrane-less egg either before or after. By the time I got to this one, it had been tromped on and broken open.

I think Daisy laid it, since it has a brownish cast, but I also have an Ancona who is just about laying age and they lay white eggs. Now I'm waiting for the second egg with almost as much excitement!

ETA: Daisy is a 23 week old (I think -- got her at about 8 weeks) Black Star.
