Post Your Game Cam Pics Here!!!

Sure are pretty aren't they?
Yep!

Just came across this post....took me a while to get through it but loved all the pics. I wish I lived in an area where all of these animals would wander around.
We've got both good & bad creatures here, depending on your perspective. ;) After much observing, I've found that the coyotes stay in the woods & don't bother the chickens. Between the coyotes & my dogs, they keep the foxes away from my birds. Foxes have taken more birds than anything else here, until I got the dogs trained. :) That being said, the coyotes here have killed some new fawns right close to our property. :( Coyotes are not native here & much is done in regards to the sport of hunting them. Lots of sheep & calves (even birthing cows) are taken by these killing machines not far from where we live. It's quite the balancing act.:/ We did have to shoot one large coyote that decided the Muscovy ducks were worth going after. Only one in all the years we've been here. We shoot only in defence of our poultry & have systems in place to protect them when we can't be around.

I guess what I'm getting at is, if you live in the sticks & raise any kind of livestock, you should be prepared to protect it from predators. Predators are around because the fluffy, cute & beautiful prey animals are around too. ;)

W have lots of Coyote moving in from the western part of the country and I have seen them around, and we have just about everything else but Grisly and wolverine and wolf. we've had Blk bears come right into our fenced in property and messed up the welded wire fence so bad we decided to replace it all with no climb horse fencing and barb wire so far since spring we haven't had a bear inside, but a red tail came inside the fencing right close to the house the other day and killed one of my cochin bantam hens, I heard the ruckus and came out and scared it off but she was dead. It's always something that's for sure. I love wild life and love to see them just don't want them going after my flock. Now I need to replace my game camera since the one I had died last week.

Ack! I love wildlife too. Sometimes it can get scary though. Don't have grizzly, wolverine or bobcats here, but pretty much everything else. I've heard of black bears around here, but have yet to see any. Hope I don't frankly. Eek! I've already been surprised by a wolf while hiking alone on a public trail nearby. Scary & awesome at the same time. We had just moved to the country, so important lesson learned. ;)

Good luck with the trail cam hunt! :)

I never hike or even take a walk without a pistol along for protection, I have 4 dogs that go with me but 3 are mini dachshunds just a nice snack for a hungry pred or other dogs so best to be prepared for anything. even humans. I'm thinking another Bushnell.

Got a sling for my .223 rifle, .17 hmr, & 20 ga shotgun. ;) Just need a sling for my .22 now. Seriously, I thought my top dog was with me. He came along but headed home at one point. :/ I can't carry a pistol in Canada, unless it's an air pistol. :p I think I'd just p*ss off a bear with that. I dunno.

I'd love to scatter my woods with Bushnells. I might get several cheaper ones instead. Love my currently working Bushnell though. ;) Been outside now for 2 cold Canadian winters now. :) Change 12 AA batteries annually.

Sounds like you are prepared now, I haven't actually had to shoot anything but I have scared some roaming dogs off while walking. usually if we come upon a bear my only dog that is large enough to scare anything will run it off. So far she hasn't come up on a mama and cubs. Good to know your Bushnells have lasted so long ours is about 3 yrs old and just stopped working and hubs worked on it so it's good and dead now.

Ha, ha! Yeah, my hubs likes to tinker too. Doesn't always get it right though. :p Guess our cam has a year left on it. ;) I wouldn't be surprised if it failed after that. Gets pretty darn cold here. I've seen my top dog escort a smaller, western coyote & 2 big labs off the property after being here almost a year. Gee, I haven't seen any of those wee yotes since after we moved in. I'm guessing larger ones ran them off. My 20 lb little pug mutt chased off a fox last year. :) Gotta love it when the older dog does all the training. ;)

Yes does help to have older dog train youngsters. You know it does pay to read instructions before using things, I left it up to dh to work the camera and he said the other day he didn't read the whole book. Oh well we'll do better next one.
Haha yes most of the wild animals here are of the human kind. We do have some of the smaller critters here like raccoons and opossums also the occasional fox but they're not seen often.
I'm thinking I'd rather deal with the wild animals than the wild human animals. I bet New York City has raccoons and opossums they are everywhere. We had a rabies epidemic here about 6-7 yrs ago just about wiped out the raccoons but of course they have been making a come back I see them quite a bit on the game camera.

I am actually on long island not NYC so we do have deer and fox and weasels and stuff too.
