Post Your Game Cam Pics Here!!!

There are some maps that show our road going through and some GPS's that also try to take some people down in. At the end is a nice big sand pit and there have been some vehicles that try to drive through the sand and of course get stuck. Hubby has pulled some people out of the sand but not any more. The sign says Dead End and if someone is stupid enough to drive up our road and get stuck, they can call a towing service.

GPS is fairly useless in getting to my house, too. I give everyone directions, but they think they know best and follow their GPS, invariably having to call and ask where they made a wrong turn. I have to remember to tell them NOT to use GPS.

I need to buy another camera. One of mine just died. No power with the AC adapter or new batteries. Hubby checked the batteries and they are good. It was my original camera that I have had for years and did take nice pictures. Time for a new one.

Now, my husband will be closing the gate ALL the time. And we need another camera, I do believe, closer to the gate, and maybe a sign besides the Beware of Dog sign that hangs on the driveway gate.

i disagree. you need a 12-gauge pump and an auto-loading carbine readily accessible in your home, and a large caliber handgun on your body at all times when you are left alone.

if you shoot one of them, make sure to finish them off.

Will a 20 gauge with slugs do? I agree with you and got that covered, friend. ;) But, of course, the camera is for possible evidence for the cops in the aftermath, 'cause we all know they won't get here in time, not up here in "Bumblesquat USA". That's why every time I see a security system sign in front of someone's cabin around here, I snicker.

I would like a big dog to go with the sign, but the hubs isn't wanting to get into that again, says another dog would outlive him. Heck, I want to point out all our 10 year old hens to him, but that's logic, right?

No dogs for us either. A dog would probably outlive us too. I have a .22 and a 410 with critical defense slugs and other ammo. Most of the people that live in our area have guns and every so often we hear them shooting. Not long ago a woman from Virginia bought 10 acres behind us. She had a German Schnauzer. Not long ago she let it out to do it's business one night and it ventured too far from her house and some coyotes seriously injured it and it died. She was concerned about hearing the gunfire around sometimes and we told he to be grateful she hears it and that we have guns and maybe she should invest in one and learn how to shoot it. Hubby gave her a can of pepper spray, the same as the police use, It actually sprays pretty far and she was happy with that for now. I mentioned to her about a game camera.

I should have saved the pics of strange vehicles in my driveway. Turns out it was repo guy and he looked all around our property while we were gone, including the in our barn and peeking in shop windows. Only one problem: He wasn't here for anything of ours. He was looking for one of my neighbors's trucks! He's super lucky that we weren't home. He'd have likely been shot or at least put on the ground at gunpoint and zip-tied until the sheriff arrived. Our driveway has a sign that says "Private Drive. No Trespassing."

Uh-oh, he was lucky, then! I'd be highly irritated, too.

Yup, he even knew it wasn't the right house as we found out later when another guy from the same company showed up asking about the neighbor. The thought we were maybe hiding the neighbor's truck since we share a portion of the drive. Seriously gutsy and quite illegal to just peruse through someone else's property on a hunch.

Okay, now that was completely ridiculous, him knowing you were not who he was looking for. He deserved a gun in his face. I am wanting a few sections of privacy fencing where our turnaround meets the sidewalk to the house steps to block the view of the outbuildings from someone just looking down the driveway. Before this is all over, I'll have a 10' stone wall and a moat.

sure, 20 ga will work fine, with the right load.

slugs are not the best for home defense for a couple of reasons, but they aren't the worst.

before we get into the load you should use, what is your setup like? are you out in the country with space between neighbors?
who else is in the house? kids, parents, etc?

those questions will make sense in a bit...
