Post Your Game Cam Pics Here!!!

Sorry duckies. It’s lockdown time!

I wonder if I would have been so eager to get ducks (aka every predator’s favorite meal) if I had put the cameras up prior. So far, they’ve stayed safe (3+ years of predator dodging), but with this line up, I have to be extra careful, but also remain realistic...
Have you thought about some electric fencing? - I heart that a shock to the nose will repel even the strongest and hungriest bear. A fence electrifier is not expensive if you want to protect a smaller area. Polywire and fence posts neither.
Teaching Mr. Bear some respect would also be in your own interest! You don't want to step out of your door one morning into the paws or Mr. Bear, his fiancé or one of their relatives…

I’ve certainly thought about it. I’ve thought of it often. I usually think about it while doing something entirely unrelated. At the farm supply store? That’s when I forget about it...

This is the charger I have at my outer coops.

This is similar to the one I have at my chick/grow-out coop.

I want your birds to be safe. A bear will attempt to get into a coop if it's hungry enough. There are threads on BYC with pictures where bears have tried to get into some coops. Some people have baited the wire to get them to touch the wires with their nose, tongue or lips which are the most sensitive parts on them so they will get the message to stay away. I want anything that touches my wires to know it. If the bear tries to get into your coop it won't be cute anymore. Good luck...

Yeah! I know what your're talking about! Those dang stock-tanks with lots of little ducklings inside… :lau
But seriously: My wife walked back our driveway one summer-evening during twilight and had two coyotes in her way. Luckily she had a hiking-stick in her hands and pointed it at the animals like you would point with a gun and they took off running. Otherwise… 😯

Bears, Cougars and Coyotes never look "cute" when you encounter them in »the woods«!
