You can go to lowes and purchase a basket container that goes into there liners, they also sell liners for as low as $30.
You can either buy the lily as a bulb from some place and start it in water where the ducks can't get or find someone with a pond who would be willing to let you have a chunk (more than likely anyone with them wouldn't care because they spread so fast) takes a good shovel and some maneuvering not to fall when in the water though.
