As I finished tending to the chickens one early evening, I had just finished buttoning up for the night when I heard some rustling in the woods. I didn't see anything at first but the rustling got louder and louder. I began to get concerned. As time went on, I thought I heard a loud dull breathing sound - I got nervous

The seconds seemed like hours, the minutes like days......

I then noticed the ground began to have a slight vibration to it! Tractor trailer? Fly over by a jet? Earthquake?

Fearing the worst, I took cover

and began to pray

......

Just then, I caught a glimpse of something coming out of the wood line. At first I couldn't recognize what it was

......

As it got closer it became quite evident I was in a pickle

......

This is what emerged out of the woods and headed straight for my girls!

They barely made it. A local roo came to there rescue and fended the beast off!!!

Beautiful pics, what kind of camera do you have?

The Alaska shots (except the raven and possibly gull) were taken with my mother's Canon Digital Rebel, but everything else was taken with my camera...a Canon Powershot A620

It is FABULOUS for macros! It focuses as close as 2 cm!​

I was watering the landscaping at my work, and I found this in a bush that is about 4 foot high. I don't know what type of bush it is but I would sure like to have one. The robin is sitting on the nest but I haven't been able to get a shot of her yet.
