See, that's where I fell down. I thought that ducks, male or female, were physically incapable of holding their poo because they lacked a sphincter. If female can do it while broody, then it's at least possible that they can be trained to do it at other times. Figure 75% of the problem with ducks is the poop. If ducks can be trained to go at certain times and in designated areas, they become much more suitable to be pets.

I agree, it seems as though they have the ability to hold their poop, but I don’t think they’re able to be housebroken.

Birds dont poop solid logs like mammals because they are supposed to fly

Their digestive system is made to lose weight as soon as possible. So a healthy bird on an average day poops everything out as fast as it can

Going broody is like changing modes. Broody mode is completely seperate from "normal" mode. Nothing short of rewiring the brain could make a bird be capable of being potty trained

its been questioned and tried to death for decades. Other then highly intelectual tropical birds its never been done
