Red Sex links. At least 16 weeks old. Got some exactly like them. Started laying at 16-17 weeks.

8 week old RSL would not be that feathered out. Nor laying eggs. Farmer may have meant 18 weeks.

Beautiful birds, though. Great layers. Some are very friendly.

And by all means, eat the eggs!

Thanks every one. He must have misprinted his add. At least I will not have to wait for eggs as I am getting about a dozen a week right now and they are getting bigger. He told me they were Bovan chickens by the way. A hybrid that are meant as layers. They are very friendly for the most part and do not mind being picked up. One is an escape artist.
 
Bovan should be the same as a Brown ISA. Those look red to me. Red ISA, Red Sex Links, Red Stars, Golden Comets are all the same thing.

All are really the same, hybrids bred for laying.
