Poultry Breeds of Spanish Ancestry

so a few days ago my crele rooster in the second run ( my unrelated rooster) started limping bad. no signs on his foot
My incubators are both full. Luckliy a member here @debs_flock set my eggs I had from that run. along with A dozen Empordanesa and some Olive eggers too lol
He is hoping around eating , drinking and mating. I sprayed his foot with bluekote just in case and now my hands look like i am part Smurf .

I have some other crele from a friend in one incubator and some black penedesenca in another from another trade.

I have been toying with the idea of switching from crele to Wheaten do to the selling pairs at hatch. Basically any rooster chick that hatches a off color I have to sell a hen and make them take a rooster which leaves me with too few of hens. I would rather grow a bunch out to see who looks good and save them for possible use but I don't want to use any off color crele chicks
so I have local homesteaders wanting roosters and i sell a pair of crele and usually olive eggers or sometimes the black pene's or empordanesa ( I will have a lot of Empordanesa this year I think)

so any opinions ?

I don't have an opinion for you as I'm not really awake yet... maybe later.

I did want to mention that I have a cockerel which I really like that developed a bad limp here lately. He is just at the age where he has become full of himself and was fighting between the fence wire. I think he might have gotten his foot caught up in it. I'm trying to hang onto him as he is a pretty nice boy. The limp is better but not gone. I am hoping to use him for fall breeding in my bantam birds.

hoping they both get better.

The best of luck to you George. We'll be looking forward to seeing some pics of those chosen few.
Judging by last year, very few. LOL. They are going to have to be strong somewhere or better than what I have. I have a flock now, so there is not pressure to build a flock.

I will do some chick picks soon. Was going to share them with someone, so I will post a picture or two.
