Hi All,

We have a mixed poultry flock and are looking for a feeder that has an auto close door. The only ones I’m finding so far are on a site called RunChicken. Does anyone have any automatic door feeders that they love to use? Thanks in advance!

Save your money! $150.00 for a feeder that holds pounds of feed, doesn't stop feed theft or feed raking.... and the rats will happily feed during the day.

A 12 pound treadle feeder starts at $65.00, stops wild birds, rats, and mice during the day, can be installed outside, isn't made out of aluminum which can be toxic when used to store food without a plastic coating like they do with soda cans, and it won't fail to open or close as long as you keep the spring replaced when if it breaks.

Get on Google and find the chicken feeder review website, there is just one. That is all they do, no product links with paid commissions, they don't sell anything. Their info is a bit dated but they have covered most of the available treadle feeders. Skip the "reviews" from the chicken blog sites, those are commission generating schemes, no commission paid, no recommendation.

Then if you find a feeder you like check to see if Amazon has it and check the negative reviews first and believe them! Most feeders are sold to people without a rodent problem so lots of five star reviews don't mean a lot. The negative reviews tell the story.

You will find the best feeders on sale outside of Amazon. If you have a quality product you cannot give away 35% of the sales price and subsidize the shipping by half unless you are charging a ridiculous price or like the ones on Amazon, have them made in China.

Do you have any recommendations on a certain brand one?
Thanks

Get one of those chinese made ones, they cost more now so they must be better. Or at least they will make you feel better! Besides, child slave laborers need jobs too.

You made me laugh Moonshiner. I'd like to live next door to a guy like you.
