You mean the color of the second bug? I have seen lice with bellies that color and if squished on a white paper towel it looks like blood.I've don't think I've ever seen the gut color like that, have you?
Hmm it was hard to crush them but they were never red....You mean the color of the second bug? I have seen lice with bellies that color and if squished on a white paper towel it looks like blood.
It does look like a beetle but it seemed also very very small the size of a tick before I zoomed in on my cameraLooks like some sort of beetle. Agreed, most beetles are harmless aside from the fact that they can infest feed supplies, can be a co-host for a number of parasites, and some of them can pack a powerful bite when disturbed.
The second one? Lice can be hard to squish and the blood doesn't look the same as when you squish a flea or mosquito, but if you do it on a white paper towel you'll see some blood. Not much, but it's there.Hmm it was hard to crush them but they were never red....
The dark part, looks like it's inside the bug, have seen this in other insects and very small fish, assumed it could be gut contents(blood) but I may be wrong. You mean the color of the second bug? I have seen lice with bellies that color and if squished on a white paper towel it looks like blood.
That's what I've always assumed. The dark part, looks like it's inside the bug, have seen this in other insects and very small fish, assumed it could be gut contents(blood) but I may be wrong.

I zoomed in on the first pic with my tablet. It's a beetle. I've never seen a beetle that small. GC
