Poultry Nipples For Ducklings?

Will poultry nipples work for ducklings from the very beginning, or do they need actual water to dunk their beaks into? Our ducklings are coming this week, and we'd like to get them used to the poultry nipples as soon as we can.

Ducks actually do need to be able to dunk their bills into the water, ideally up to at least their nostrils. I allows them to clean their bills. That is what I have read in quite a number of places.
