I thought it would be fun to post pictures of poultry related to our ancestry. For example, this picture is of my great grandfather's poultry business in Bear River City, UT.
I hope to post pictures of the coops that we had on our family farm. Also, I recently saw a black & white photo of my aunt who just passed away, and she was standing near a flock of chickens on the family farm in Northern Utah. It was a beautiful picture of a beautiful lady and some great looking chickens of former days. I hope that those out there with pictures enjoy this opportunity to post and share information.

Wish I had some of my family with their flocks. I sort of collect old poultry photos. These are via the Library of Congress photo collection. Subjects and photographers unknown.

[Edited to add pics]

I will have to see if my dad has any old photos. My great grandparents raised chickens, pigs and rabbits for meat after they moved here from Hungary. I am the only one in my family who has raised chickens since then, they all think I'm nuts

This has inspired me to take pictures of my children with the chickens. Although they are teenagers I think this would be a great legacy for them and their children (if they have any) down the road. One article I read a while ago told of a gentleman that created a journal as he raised his chickens. I think this is a good idea also.

I love old poultry photos! Sadly, I have none from my family even though my grandmother ran a poultry farm in the 1920s and 30s.
I do have a piece of stationery that says something about S.C White Leghorns - Bred to Lay and Pay!
