I live in Maryland. This may be a Maryland-thing, or perhaps it's everwhere. But I feel as though I must be missing something-
I follow some local Chicken-groups on Facebook. Recently I've been interested in getting some hatching eggs or chicks from a local person, but I'm having trouble reading between the lines of social media rules. I know that many platforms and/or groups do not permit the buying and selling of live animals, and therefore people are cautious. That part I get. What I don't understand is the large number of Facebook chicken tenders who won't share their general location with the public. Like, I'm not looking for an address. I'm not going to show up on your doorstep and yell "surprise!" I just want to know whether or not you are located within a driveable distance from me. Give me a region, a county, a vague idea of where you are. I find it a hassle to have to PM a bunch of different people, then wait however long for a response, just to figure out out if you're even close enough for me to consider. It also starts to feel a little shady. Should I be suspicious of these people, or is this typical? Is it a Maryland thing or does it happen everywhere? Am I just being crotchety and looking for something insignificant to rant about?
