On wednesday i set out on an hour drive to go to the UGA poultry camp called avian adventures. It was the most spectacular camps i have ever been to and i great way to learn as much as possible about chickens. We did everything on chickens you could ever imagine. we got to do hands on surgery with white leghorns, euthanise broilers and cut them open to study, induce laying in a hen my giving a shot of oxytocin, and a kayaking trip. All the classes were taught by UGA professors, and were chaparoned by poultry science students. This trip was way more than learning it was a fun way to meet students that enjoyed the same things as myself, and I would strongly encourage any high school student that is interested in poultry to attend this camp!!!
P.S. MANY PICS COMING SOON!!!
