Got the prettiest TINY 2 day old silkies and some booted bantams that I cannot remember what they are called. The kids are in love though. My mom thinks they are adorable. There is a huge demand to build a new custom bantam coop.

Hi!
You got those Silkies from ME! The others are d'Uccles. You have adorable and very chicken-enthusiastic kids! They were sweet!!
I'm glad I came home when I did. One d'Uccle babe had wedged herself behind a water bowl and was screaming for help. Another had hatched and the stupid broody kicked her out of the nest. She'd been out so long she was spraddled from the linoleum and was pretty cold. Glad to say she is recovering nicely and the hobbles are already working. Hope she sipped more of the vitamins than she slung all over me!
Two more partridge silkies had hatched, and I rescued them before they could be kicked out.
I have rearranged things so that the babies can escape to a safer place with no linoleum. All I have to do is get to them before the cold does. Won't have room in the bator until the turkeys are finished 'cooking' but at that point all lousy broodies will be HENS again and the eggs will go into the bator.
Dexter is in a run, but not happy about being alone. It's his own fault for beating up Blue Boy, who was in the run first. Now Blue's in with GB until GB goes to his new home.
Will post some pictures from the get-together shortly, much to Sarah's dismay... Who was an AWESOME hostess, BTW!!
